The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival

Street Parade - Man from Snowy River Bush FestivalWe were fortunate and grateful to be granted permission to photograph The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival, held in Corryong each year on the first weekend in April.
The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival was established in 1995, and is a "unique bush gathering of mountain riders, poets, artists and lovers of the Australian High Country and pioneering spirit."  The Festival is held every April and draws visitors both from around Australia and overseas.  It is a celebration of traditional high country and bush culture and offers its visitors the opportunity to experience the "traditional Australian bushskills that remain an essential part of Australia's heritage."

On the following pages you will find many thousands of  photos taken over the course of the 2010 and 2011 Festivals.  We first met up with Riley's Riders at Tom Groggin station early in the week and our adventure culminated with the awarding of the offficial "Man from Snowy River" trophy to Mr. Scott Bandy on Sunday afternoon.

We would like to thank The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival Committee for allowing us the privilege of taking part in the Festival and we hope that you find our photographic coverage entertaining.  For more information about the Festival visit The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival website.

The Man from Snowy River Re-Enactment

The re-enactment is a "theatrical portrayal of the poem and a celebration of the life of Jack Riley. The colt from Old Regret escapes and all the cracks take off at a racing pace to catch it. But of course it is the Man from Snowy River who is ultimately successful. This is a fabulous event and a brilliant way to start your Festival experience.
